Available Works

My paintings are shaped by rhythm, atmosphere, texture, and years spent immersed in music culture. I approach each work intuitively, building the surface through layering, gesture, and response rather than following a predetermined plan.

The collection below represents a selection of studio works currently available for acquisition. Each painting is sold with a signed certificate of authenticity. Shipping available worldwide. Installation mockups available.

UNTITLED
48 × 60 in
Mixed media on canvas

Untitled by Christopher Durst, a 48 × 60 inch mixed-media abstract painting with pastel color, black forms, fragmented symbols, and expressive lines.

I approached this work as an exploration of rhythm, spontaneity, and emotional contrast. Built through layers of color, texture, and instinctive mark-making, “Untitled” balances softness with tension, combining bright pastel tones with raw black forms, fragmented symbols, and expressive linear elements. I am interested in creating a sense of movement, memory, and cultural noise, allowing the surface to evolve through accumulation and response. The result is an atmosphere that feels both playful and emotionally charged, inviting viewers to find their own connections within the work.

DEBUTANTE GRAFFITI II & III
60 × 48 in each (Diptych)
Mixed media on canvas

Debutante Graffiti II & III by Christopher Durst, a large-scale abstract diptych with pastel color, layered symbols, graphic forms, and gestural markings.

I approached these works as an exploration of fragmentation, accumulation, and visual rhythm. Built through layers of color, gesture, and intuitive mark-making, “Debutante Graffiti II & III” balances structure with spontaneity, combining vibrant pastel tones, graphic forms, symbols, and expressive linear elements. I am interested in how memory, experience, and cultural influence overlap on the surface, allowing each composition to evolve through a process of addition, disruption, and response. Together, the paintings create a dynamic visual dialogue that feels both playful and energetic, inviting viewers to navigate their own pathways through the layered imagery.

TRANSMISSION
48 × 60 in
Mixed media on canvas

Transmission by Christopher Durst, a large-scale mixed-media abstract painting featuring layered symbols, gestural lines, and blue-grey atmospheric forms.

I created this work through a process of layering symbols, gestural lines, and mechanical forms within an open field of blue and grey. I am interested in the balance between precision and spontaneity, combining industrial references, fragmented geometry, and raw mark-making to build a visual language that feels both structured and instinctive. Through texture, repetition, and movement, I explore the tension between order and improvisation, allowing the painting to reflect the rhythm, complexity, and emotional residue of contemporary culture.

RESIDUAL MEMORY
48 × 60 in
Mixed media on canvas

Residual Memory by Christopher Durst, a 48 × 60 inch mixed-media abstract painting with layered texture, gestural marks, and muted color.

This work explores the balance between softness and disruption through layered texture, gestural movement, and fragmented symbolic forms. Built through instinctive mark-making and atmospheric contrasts, the composition combines muted neutrals with moments of pink, blue, black, and red to create a visual tension that feels both intimate and cinematic. Texture, rhythm, and repetition guide the surface as it develops, allowing unexpected relationships to emerge over time. The painting reflects an ongoing interest in emotional residue, lived experience, and the complexity of contemporary culture, existing somewhere between structure, improvisation, and controlled chaos.

BETWEEN FREQUENCIES
48 × 60 in
Mixed media on canvas

Between Frequencies by Christopher Durst, a large-scale abstract painting with layered markings, raw symbols, gestural movement, and textured color.

This work explores the space between chaos and connection through raw symbolism, movement, and texture. Influenced by rhythm, energy, and the noise of contemporary culture, the composition balances tension with playfulness, combining abstraction and iconography to create something that feels both disruptive and deeply human.

Built through layered gestures, accumulated markings, and imperfect forms, “Between Frequencies” embraces movement rather than stillness. Fragments emerge, collide, and dissolve across the surface, reflecting the way memories, emotions, and experiences overlap over time. The work exists as an atmosphere suspended somewhere between memory, rebellion, and connection.

FRAGMENTS OF A FUTURE
48 × 60 in
Mixed media on canvas

Fragments of a Future by Christopher Durst, a mixed-media abstract painting with fragmented symbols, intersecting forms, layered texture, and expressive movement.

Rather than telling a specific story, I use gesture, repetition, and controlled disorder to explore emotion as atmosphere. Fragments of symbols, markings, and intersecting forms move across the surface like echoes, appearing, dissolving, and reemerging through layers of texture and movement.

Drawn to the space between memory and noise, intimacy and collision, I allow the work to develop through instinct rather than rigid planning. Imperfection remains an important part of the process, creating room for rhythm, energy, and subconscious movement to shape the final composition. What emerges is less about narrative and more about feeling, capturing traces of experience that remain long after the moment itself has passed.

SIGNAL & NOISE
60 × 48 in
Mixed media on canvas

Signal and Noise by Christopher Durst, a large-scale abstract painting featuring layered symbols, gestural markings, and textured surfaces in pink, grey, blue, black, white, and yellow.

Rather than working from a fixed plan, I allow the painting to emerge through layered marks, fractured geometry, and instinctive movement. I am interested in the tension between structure and emotional disorder, where symbols surface briefly before dissolving back into texture. That push and pull creates a visual language that feels both playful and unresolved.

Much of the work is influenced by rhythm, atmosphere, and the imperfect nature of human connection. Instead of directing a specific interpretation, I focus on creating an experience that can be felt rather than explained. Movement, repetition, contrast, and the physical energy embedded within the surface become a way of translating emotion into form, leaving space for individual meaning to emerge.
